The New Breed began in 1987, when Pararescue and Combat Control merged selection into a single 10-week course called OL-H MACOS Indoc. designed to push candidates until they either quit or failed.

Cold water. Long runs. Endless repetitions. Little sleep. Constant pressure.

The first class graduated fewer than a dozen candidates.

For nearly two decades, this pipeline produced the next generation of Combat Controllers and Pararescuemen. The standard was straightforward: keep up or get dropped.

This collection recognizes that era and the men who came through it.
